I built the website with Quartz and shaped it into a dictionary. The pages rest in alphabetical folders, a script gives each term its phonetic transcription, and the entries are set in two columns beneath a running head and a page number, as in a printed lexicon. You can move about the site with keyboard shortcuts of my own devising.

Its inspirations

For the form I am beholden to the Hvalur dictionary, whose layout and fine rendering I have made my model. The habit of these pages I owe to the practice of keeping a commonplace book, where each thought is written so that it may be found again and joined to others.

Of threads that run backward
